Academic and Enrollment Information

CAPS Conferences are held in February/March of every year. The purpose of this parent meeting is to decide on classes to be taken for the upcoming year and plan for your future. Information will be presented and staff will be available to help and answer questions. Typical class schedules are listed below.

      • NOTE TO 7th AND 8th GRADE STUDENTS: A student who does not pass half of his/her academic classes must attend summer school in order to be promoted to the next grade.

    • 1 unit of Mathematics  Algebra I, Geometry (prerequisite: Algebra I or Algebra Interactions A & B), or Algebra II (prerequisite: Algebra I)
    • Electives: Agriculture, Home Economics, Band, Choir, Athletics, Art, East Lab, Digital Communications I and II, Computerized Accounting, Personal Fitness Recreational Sports, Computerized Business Applications, Driver’s Education, Spanish I or II, 1/2 unit Fine Arts**
    • Electives offered at North Central Career Center: Automotive Technology, Collision Repair, Criminal Justice, Medical Professions
  • 11th grade
    • 1 unit of English
    • 1 unit of American History
    • 1 unit of Science Chemistry (prerequisite: Biology and  Geometry or Biology and Algebra I),  Anatomy & Physiology (prerequisite: Biology) Environmental Science
    • 1 unit of Mathematics Geometry  (prerequisite: Algebra I),  Bridge to Algebra II (prerequisite: Algebra I), Algebra II (prerequisite: Algebra I), or Algebra III (prerequisite: Algebra II) Pre-AP Pre-Calculus (prerequisite: Algebra II)
    • Electives: Same as 9th and/or 10th grade, yearbook staff **

  • 12th grade

    • 1 unit of Mathematics  Geometry (prerequisite: Algebra I), Bridge to Algebra II (prerequisite: Algebra I), Algebra II (prerequisite:  Algebra I), ) or Algebra III (prerequisite: Algebra II)  Pre-AP Pre-Calculus  (prerequisite: Algebra II),  AP Calculus (prerequisite: Pre-AP Pre-Calculus), or College Algebra (prerequisite Pre-AP Pre-Calculus  or Algebra III).
    • Electives: Same as 9th and/or 10th grade, yearbook staff **
    • Electives offered at North Central Career Center: Automotive Technology, Collision Repair, Medical Professions, Criminal Justice.

Any required course that is failed will be taken the next year.
