Make-up Days

All schools in the district will be in session on April 15 and 18. These days were originally scheduled as vacation days but will now be used to make up days missed because of snow/ice.

In addition, Marshall High School will have a make-up day on May 26. Because MHS took an AMI day earlier than MES and LIS, its allotment of 10 AMI days was depleted before the AMI days for the other 2 campuses were. Therefore, Feb. 24 was an AMI day for MES and LIS but a day to be made up for MHS. May 26 will be that make-up day for MHS. Feb. 25 and March 11 were days to be made up for all campuses because all AMI days had been spent by then.

May 25 will be the last day of school for Marshall Elementary and Leslie Intermediate; May 26 will be the last day for Marshall High School.

NEW QUARANTINE GUIDELINES, EFFECTIVE SEPT. 9

If students/staff are exposed to COVID-19:

Fully vaccinated:

No quarantine is required for FULLY vaccinated individuals who have no symptoms. However, exposed individuals should wear a mask and be monitored for 14 days for symptoms. It is recommended that vaccinated people get tested at least 5 days after exposure even if vaccinated to ensure they are negative and not an asymptomatic carrier.

Not vaccinated:

An individual who is not vaccinated has the option to return to school after day 10 without testing or after day 7 after a negative test result (test must occur on day 5 or later). No home tests.

Regardless of vaccination status:

An individual who has been positive for COVID-19 illness within the previous 3 months (90 days) AND has recovered AND remains without COVID-19 symptoms does not need to quarantine if exposed. He/she should still wear a mask for 14 days in case symptoms arise.

If students/staff are positive for COVID-19:

Regardless of vaccination, an individual who tests positive will be required to quarantine for 10 days from the date that symptoms first appeared. After day 10, if the individual has been without fever for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications AND if other symptoms of COVID-19 are improving, the individual may return to school/work.

(Loss of taste and smell may persist for weeks or months after recovery and need not delay the end of isolation.)
